About the Artist

After studying Textile Design, Alice taught in Tower Hamlets for two years before becoming involved in her husband's business. Divorce 20 years later freed her to resume her creative activities and she became a resident artist at Kew Studio, with whom she exhibited, for eight years from 1996.

The progression of her MS required Alice to work from her studio at home. She became a member of Enable Artists, a group of artists each suffering from MS, with whom she exhibited in a show touring the country for 2 years and culminating at a show at the Diorama Gallery in London in 2005.

The same year Alice had a solo show at Waterman's Arts Centre entitled Losing My Grip, based on her emotional experience of weakening hands, and comprising of photography, collage and installation. The month-long exhibition included a workshop for children and adults. She is currently working for a second show centred on the loss of mobility.

Alice has exhibited with the London Disability Arts Forum at the ICI offices in London. Her work is held in private and public collections, including Hillingdon, Lakeside and West Middlesex Hospitals.
