About the Artist

Julie Verhoeven is a true artistic polymath: she’s as much at home as a practising visual artist as she is designing, illustrating, and art directing in both the fashion and music industries. Verhoeven’s love of drawing is at the heart of any commercial work she undertakes.

In 2002 Verhoeven’s work appeared on the runways in the form of patchwork handbags by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton and saw the launch of the fashion line, Gibo by Julie Verhoeven, with fl agship boutiques in both London and Milan. Verhoeven has two books of her work published and is a part-time lecturer at Central Saint Martins and The Royal College of Art. She has had solo drawings shows in London, Cologne and Brussels and has participated in several group shows internationally. Verhoeven’s installation work most recently has been seen at The Garden Party at Deitch Projects, New York.
