About the Artist

The partnership of Rose Gray and Ruth Rogers has gone from strength to strength since opening The River Café in 1987. Their intention was to bring to London the flavours of Italian home cooking using the finest seasonal ingredients and an all-Italian wine list delivered in a modern, open dining atmosphere. The restaurant is situated in Thames Wharf on the north bank of the River Thames near Hammersmith and was designed by architect Richard Rogers.

It soon became a big hit, attracting food lovers from across London and around the world, with the help of a series of best-selling cook books, industry awards and a television series for Channel 4. The River Café’s fame and reputation attract a host of celebrities to the dining room as well as talented international chefs to the kitchen. Well-known chefs who have previously worked at the restaurant include Jamie Oliver and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
